Responsibilities
- Design and build prototypes for core technology.
- Finalize CAD designs with detailed tolerancing.
- Enhance prototype design to achieve significant weight reduction.
- Revise mechanism designs to minimize vibration.
- Adapt prototypes for air bearing, zero-g flights, and T-Vac chamber testing.
- Analyze test data to inform design changes.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure loads compatibility.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering with 5 years of experience.
- Experience with space vehicle structural load requirements.
- Proficiency in CAD and CAE packages (e.g., NASTRAN, Solidworks).
- Ability to develop analytical models for load paths.
- Experience in system and subsystem testing in an R&D environment.
- Ability to evaluate various environmental conditions (static, dynamic, etc.).
- U.S. citizenship or permanent residency required for security clearance.
