Responsibilities
- Evaluate and prototype new technologies in Cellular Connectivity, Wireless Connectivity, and Location Technologies.
- Work directly with external technology and SoC vendors to influence their roadmaps.
- Collaborate with product teams to align technology exploration with product requirements.
- Bridge the gap between new technologies and potential products by collaborating with hardware and software teams.
- Integrate security considerations into product development.
- Navigate regulatory compliance for wireless and IoT devices.
- Champion and embed Samsara’s cultural principles within the team.
Job Requirements
- Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Hands-on development and testing experience with embedded technologies.
- Experience with both embedded Linux systems and RTOS systems.
- Proficiency in low-level C and Linux kernel development.
- Familiarity with hardware communication protocols (e.g., SPI, I²C, UART).
- Strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
- Experience with cloud connectivity and IoT platforms is a plus.
