Responsibilities
- Motor design iteration between electromagnetic design and manufacturing
- Driving decisions on motor type, winding technology, and materials
- Speed and temperature sensor design and selection
- Conducting linear static stress analyses
- Design and 3D modeling of components
- Execute design verification processes
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to take designs from prototypes to mass production
Job Requirements
- Proficiency with CAE analysis software (e.g., Ansys, Abaqus)
- Knowledge of motor design variables and their effects
- Understanding of material properties and heat treatment
- Experience with high volume manufacturing processes
- Familiarity with Matlab and/or Python
- Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and toleranceing (GD&T)
- Skills in mechanical integration and documentation of systems
