Responsibilities
- Motor design iteration between electromagnetic design and manufacturing
- Driving decisions on motor type, winding technology, magnet material, and electrical insulation
- Speed and temperature sensor design and selection
- Conducting linear static stress analyses for systems
- Designing and 3D modeling of stators, rotors, sensors, and fasteners
- Executing design verification processes to validate requirements
- Coordinating validation efforts between suppliers and collaborating with various engineering teams
Job Requirements
- Proficiency with CAE analysis software (e.g., Ansys, Abaqus)
- Strong knowledge of motor design variables and their effects
- Understanding of material properties and heat treatment
- Experience with high-volume manufacturing processes for motor fabrication
- Familiarity with Matlab and/or Python
- Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and toleranceing (GD&T)
- Proficiency in hands-on mechanical integration and documentation of systems
