Responsibilities
- Receive drawing sets, develop procurement plans, and fabricate parts and assemblies at various vendors.
- Provide feedback to design engineers on cost and lead time reductions for parts.
- Partner with engineering during design to improve manufacturability and provide pricing insights.
- Manage the end-to-end RFx process to identify top suppliers and drive competition.
- Negotiate pricing, lead times, and terms to achieve optimal outcomes for the business.
- Oversee purchase order management and resolve procurement-related issues.
- Collaborate with procurement functions to enhance supplier relationships and value delivery.
Job Requirements
- 5+ years of experience as a Journeyman welder or machinist with 4+ years in a procurement role, or 7+ years in procurement with an engineering background.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and documentation, including GD&T.
- Experience with enterprise applications (PLM, ERP, MES) and data analysis tools (Excel, SQL, Tableau) is beneficial.
- Proven success in negotiating pricing, lead times, and contract terms.
