Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of precision mechanical systems and components using SolidWorks.
- Create prototypes, conduct rigorous testing, and iterate designs for optimal performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate mechanical designs with optical and electronic systems.
- Perform structural, thermal, and tolerance analyses to ensure systems meet performance requirements.
- Generate comprehensive CAD models and engineering documentation for manufacturing.
- Work with suppliers to ensure high-quality production of components.
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to team growth.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical design for high-performance hardware systems.
- Proficiency in CAD, particularly SolidWorks.
- Strong foundation in precision mechanical design and GD&T.
- Knowledge of design for manufacturability (DFM) and assembly (DFA).
- Experience with 3D scanning and additive manufacturing technologies.
- Advanced analytical skills for design validation (FEA and CFD).
