Opto-Mechanical Engineer - 508

The Opto-Mechanical Engineer role involves designing and developing opto-mechanical systems for quantum computing, collaborating with a team of engineers and physicists, and participating in the assembly and testing of optical systems.

• Collaborate with a team of physicists and engineers on quantum computing systems.
• Design and develop opto-mechanical systems including beamlines and detection systems.
• Participate in the assembly, alignment, integration, and testing of optical systems.
• Ensure producibility goals are met with stakeholders.
• Utilize CAD design for optical and photonic applications.
• Work with materials and adhesives for optical assemblies.
• Create drawings and assembly processes for optical systems.

• Bachelor’s Degree minimum, preferably in Optics or Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 6+ years of experience in opto-mechanical CAD design.
• U.S. Person status required due to contractual obligations.
• Experience with CAD systems and lens assembly.
• Hands-on skills in fabrication and knowledge of machining practices.
• Experience with optical principles and systems.
• Familiarity with motion control systems for optical components.
