Responsibilities
- Take on “Design Responsible Engineer” responsibilities for mechanical design components.
- Work with Senior Engineers on conceptual design, prototyping, testing, and documentation.
- Create and maintain 3D CAD, drawings, and manufacturing documents with attention to detail.
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to facilitate the manufacture of parts and subsystems.
- Communicate with external suppliers to ensure quality products are received on time.
- Lead investigations and solutions for hardware bugs during field testing.
- Validate environmental requirements on aircraft parts and assemblies.
Job Requirements
- 1-4+ years of professional experience in mechanical design.
- Experience designing and supporting the manufacture of composite structures.
- Familiarity with various manufacturing processes including 3D printing and CNC machining.
- Proficiency in any 3D CAD package (Solidworks, NX, Inventor).
- Ability to perform structural analysis and validate mechanical design decisions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Enthusiasm for hands-on prototyping and building.
