Responsibilities
- Design subassemblies and boxes for quantum computing sub-systems in various environments.
- Establish and maintain design flow and conduct design reviews.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and suppliers on design finalization and assembly process.
- Manage the delivery and verification of first article piece parts.
- Support initial sub-assembly builds and related quality control.
- Oversee budget management and hiring for the packaging team.
- Project manage deliverables and schedule tracking for suppliers.
Job Requirements
- Experience managing opto-mechanical packaging teams in startup or large company settings.
- Familiarity with optical and photonics systems; cryogenic experience is a plus.
- Proficient in packaging tools and simulation software (Solidworks, Ansys).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with technical leadership ability.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships across the organization.
- Master's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Optical Engineering, or Applied Physics.
- 15+ years of relevant engineering experience.
