Responsibilities
- Contribute to the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and operation of advanced test infrastructure, including cryostats, vacuum systems, lasers, optical fiber assemblies, and electronic systems.
- Review installation and test procedures and checklists.
- Carry out and document tests and procedures required to verify the system installation.
- Work closely with on-site staff to train for installation, including electrical, optical, mechanical, thermal, software, and safety needs.
- Collaborate with on-site staff to train for execution of power-on and calibration procedures to bring up the system as well as maintenance.
Job Requirements
- B.S.c. or active student in Physics, Mechanical, Electronics, Optical Engineering, or equivalent fields.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, optical network diagrams, and mechanical drawings.
- Ability to utilize troubleshooting skills, systems and tools, and creative problem-solving abilities.
- Experience with optical optics is preferred.
- Experience with cryogenic systems or knowledge of basic thermodynamics and heat transfer and fluid flow is preferred.
