Responsibilities
- Define and execute the long-term optics strategy and technology roadmap.
- Lead the design and definition of complex optical architectures for the OPU.
- Supervise modeling and simulation of coherent beam propagation.
- Drive transition of optical designs from concept to high-volume manufacturing.
- Oversee development of active alignment and calibration techniques.
- Collaborate with CTO and leads in Silicon Photonics and Electrical Engineering.
- Manage relationships with external suppliers and manufacturing partners.
Job Requirements
- PhD or Master’s degree in Optics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- 15+ years of experience in high-performance optical systems design.
- Proven success in deploying complex optical modules into production.
- Expert knowledge of coherent light systems and Gaussian beam propagation.
- Proficiency with tools like Zemax, CODE V, or LightTools, and scripting in MATLAB or Python.
- Understanding of active alignment strategies for precision assemblies.
- Ability to communicate complex optical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
