Responsibilities
- Design, build, test, and validate systems for the implant and related hardware components
- Develop and improve manufacturing processes and equipment for in-house production
- Scope, design, and iterate custom tooling and fixturing for the implant assembly line
- Collaborate with Quality, Electrical Engineering, BCI Software, Microfabrication, and Surgery Engineering teams
- Define system requirements, verification, and validation tests
- Adhere to project schedules to ensure timely completion
- Apply mechanical engineering knowledge in the field of brain-computer interfaces
Job Requirements
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 6+ months of relevant academic coursework or project experience
- 9+ months of experience applying technical skills outside the classroom
- 1+ years of Mechanical Design experience
- Strong understanding of engineering first principles
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Preferred: 1+ years of mechanical engineering industry experience, familiarity with machining, and exposure to medical device design and manufacturing
