Responsibilities

  • Design, build, test, and validate systems for the implant and related hardware components.
  • Develop and improve manufacturing processes and equipment for in-house production.
  • Scope, design, and iterate custom tooling and fixturing for the implant assembly line.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Electrical Engineering, BCI Software, Microfabrication, and Surgery Engineering teams.
  • Define system requirements, verification, and validation tests.
  • Adhere to project schedules and ensure timely completion.
  • Apply mechanical engineering knowledge in the field of brain-computer interfaces.

Job Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 6+ months of relevant academic coursework or project experience.
  • 9+ months of experience applying technical skills outside the classroom.
  • 1+ years of Mechanical Design experience.
  • Strong understanding of engineering first principles.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with machining and rapid prototyping technologies is preferred.
