Responsibilities

  • Design, build, test, and validate systems for the implant and related hardware components
  • Develop and improve manufacturing processes and equipment for in-house production
  • Scope, design, and iterate custom tooling and fixturing for the implant assembly line
  • Collaborate with Quality, Electrical Engineering, BCI Software, Microfabrication, and Surgery Engineering teams
  • Define system requirements, verification, and validation tests
  • Adhere to project schedules to ensure timely completion
  • Apply mechanical engineering knowledge in the field of brain-computer interfaces

Job Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • 6+ months of relevant academic coursework or project experience
  • 9+ months of experience applying technical skills outside the classroom
  • 1+ years of Mechanical Design experience
  • Strong understanding of engineering first principles
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Preferred: 1+ years of mechanical engineering industry experience, familiarity with machining, and exposure to medical device design and manufacturing
