Responsibilities
- Design and build custom benchtop fixtures and electrical/mechanical assemblies for testing implant prototypes.
- Develop setups that replicate neural environments for testing.
- Establish and document SOPs for assembly, calibration, and testing.
- Integrate electrical and mechanical components for algorithm development and data collection.
- Collaborate across disciplines to create robust solutions for experimental needs.
- Iterate and generalize test platforms for future implant designs.
- Support the Next-Gen team in defining engineering requirements.
Job Requirements
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related field.
- 6+ months of relevant academic coursework or project experience.
- 9+ months of practical experience applying technical skills.
- 1+ years of mechanical design experience.
- Strong understanding of engineering first principles.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with machining and rapid prototyping technologies preferred.
