Responsibilities
- Design and build custom benchtop fixtures and electrical/mechanical assemblies for testing.
- Develop setups that mimic neural environments for in-vivo signal condition replication.
- Establish and document standard operating procedures for assembly and testing.
- Integrate electrical and mechanical components to support algorithm development.
- Collaborate across disciplines to translate experimental needs into solutions.
- Iterate and generalize test platforms for future designs and evolving requirements.
Job Requirements
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Mechanical Engineering or related field with relevant coursework.
- 9+ months of experience applying technical skills outside the classroom.
- 1+ years of mechanical design experience.
- Strong understanding of engineering first principles.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with machining and rapid prototyping technologies (preferred).
- Experience with electrical engineering and data acquisition modules (preferred).
