Responsibilities
- Design and build custom benchtop fixtures and electrical/mechanical assemblies to test implant prototypes.
- Develop setups that mimic neural environments for experimental validation.
- Establish and document SOPs for assembly, calibration, and testing.
- Integrate electrical and mechanical components for data collection and noise characterization.
- Collaborate across disciplines to define experimental needs.
- Iterate and generalize test platforms for future designs.
- Ensure repeatability and reliability in testing processes.
Job Requirements
- Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related fields.
- 6+ months of relevant academic coursework or project experience.
- 9+ months of experience applying technical skills in practical settings.
- 1+ years of mechanical design experience.
- Strong understanding of engineering first principles.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with machining and rapid prototyping technologies preferred.
