Responsibilities
- Ownership of robotic consumable design including concept ideation and prototyping.
- Investigation of applicable technologies and off-the-shelf components.
- Detailed design work in CAD, including modeling and creation of detailed drawings.
- Analysis of designs for loads, tolerance stack-ups, and material compatibility.
- Collaboration with Biology, Product, and Robotic Software teams.
- Build consumable prototypes in-house for initial engineering validation testing.
- Manage design transfer of prototypes to production manufacturing.
Job Requirements
- Mechanical design experience in bioprocessing consumables or medical devices.
- Ability to solve complex technical problems by breaking them down.
- Knowledge of mechanical components, engineering metals, plastics, and fabrication methods.
- Experience working in 3D CAD software.
- Knowledge of injection molded part design and GD&T standards.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 2+ years of engineering experience in a relevant field.
