Director of Avionics Engineering

The role involves leading the hardware engineering team, ensuring the delivery of technical work products, schedules, and budgets, while advocating for the team’s resources and growth.

• Communicate engineering updates and provide context for decisions.
• Set technical direction and standards for engineering teams.
• Oversee program-level schedules and resource balancing.
• Manage communication with program directors regarding technical performance.
• Collaborate with Quality and Safety teams on standards and risk management.
• Approve tools and software for engineering efficiency.
• Mentor and conduct performance reviews for direct reports.

• Minimum of 14 years of engineering experience, including management in aerospace defense.
• 4 years as a functional manager.
• Experience in spacecraft development and hardware engineering design.
• Knowledge of satellite systems and components.
• Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance.
• Preferred experience with agile development and serial data protocols.
• Familiarity with tools such as git, JIRA, and confluence.
