Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of new plastic injection mold tooling.
- Collaborate with product designers to enhance manufacturing feasibility.
- Work with tooling suppliers on design and qualification of tooling.
- Select materials to meet performance and cosmetic requirements.
- Improve tooling designs and manufacturing techniques based on optimization trials.
- Provide guidance on machinery and equipment selection.
- Identify and implement disruptive technologies in tooling and part creation.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years of tooling design and manufacturing experience.
- Experience with high volume consumer electronics tooling.
- Understanding of SPC, DOE, GD&T principles.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD design and mold filling simulation software.
- Experience with various molding techniques and post-molding operations.
- Knowledge of metal part fabrication methods.
