Responsibilities
- Lead design and development of new plastic injection mold tooling.
- Collaborate with product designers to enhance manufacturing feasibility of parts.
- Work with tooling suppliers on design, manufacturing, and qualification of tooling.
- Select materials to meet performance and aesthetic requirements.
- Improve tooling designs and processes based on optimization trials.
- Provide guidance on machinery and equipment selection for suppliers.
- Identify and implement disruptive technologies in tooling and part creation.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years of tooling design and manufacturing experience.
- Experience with high volume, tight tolerance consumer electronics tooling.
- Understanding of SPC, DOE, and GD&T principles.
- Proficient in 3D CAD design software and mold filling simulation software.
- Experience with various thermoplastic and thermoset resins.
- Knowledge of hot runner systems and associated troubleshooting.
