Responsibilities
- Define static and dynamic design loads for subsystems through investigations of use-cases.
- Instrument robots, collect data, and analyze peak shock and vibration forces.
- Troubleshoot mechanical failures and implement improved designs.
- Design test plans for component and sub-system level testing.
- Build a test & measurement internal team.
- Collaborate with the reliability team for high-reliability design practices.
- Create test protocols and fixtures for high load tests.
Job Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in Mechanical Design Engineering for harsh environments.
- BS degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Experience with shock and vibration measurement and analysis.
- Proficiency in test fixture design and CAD tools like SOLIDWORKS or Siemens NX.
- Experience with prototyping and materials.
- Ability to manage time-sensitive projects with evolving priorities.
- Familiarity with tolerance analysis and Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
