Responsibilities
- Defining static and dynamic design loads for subsystems through investigation of use-cases
- Instrumenting robots and collecting data to analyze peak shock and vibration forces
- Troubleshooting mechanical failures and implementing improved designs
- Designing test plans for component and sub-system loads on vibration/shock tables
- Building a test & measurement internal team
- Collaborating with the reliability team to implement best practices for design
- Designing test protocols and fixtures for high load tests
Job Requirements
- 8+ years experience in Mechanical Design Engineering, especially in harsh environments
- BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Experience with shock and vibration measurement and analysis
- Proficiency in test fixture design and CAD tools like SOLIDWORKS or Siemens NX
- Experience with prototyping manufacturing processes and materials
- Ability to manage time-sensitive projects with evolving priorities
- Experience in tolerance analysis and Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
