Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute research to advance textile-based actuation systems for soft robotics.
  • Collaborate with researchers and engineers to prototype hardware and actuation control solutions.
  • Run experiments to demonstrate advancements in textile-based actuators.
  • Communicate research agenda and findings to interdisciplinary collaborators.
  • Write and publish scientific articles.
  • Engage in materials research, textile design, and mechanical characterization.
  • Demonstrate new control strategies in real-world applications.

Job Requirements

  • Currently pursuing or has a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Textile Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field.
  • Understanding of state-of-the-art textile-based actuation technologies.
  • Experience with textile-based actuator prototyping and mechanical characterization techniques.
  • Familiarity with soft robotics technologies and literature.
  • Expertise in actuation control methods for soft robotics applications.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Intent to return to degree program after the internship.
