Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute cutting-edge research on textile-based actuation systems.
  • Collaborate with researchers and engineers to prototype hardware and actuation controls.
  • Communicate research findings to interdisciplinary collaborators.
  • Write and publish scientific articles.

Job Requirements

  • Currently pursuing or has a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Textile Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a relevant field.
  • Knowledge of textile-based actuation technologies.
  • Experience with prototyping textile-based actuators.
  • Familiarity with mechanical characterization techniques for actuators.
  • Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment.
  • Preferred: familiarity with soft robotics and expertise in 3D knitting and actuation control methods.
  • Intent to return to degree program after the internship.
