Responsibilities

  • Propose novel tactile sensing system architectures for high performance and durability in robotics.
  • Develop tactile sensing systems and build prototypes.
  • Characterize the tactile sensing system and experiment with practical use cases.
  • Collaborate with and support other researchers across various disciplines.
  • Communicate research agenda, progress, and results.

Job Requirements

  • Currently pursuing or obtaining a PhD in Optical Science, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
  • Experience with tactile sensors (optical, resistive, capacitive, or piezoelectric).
  • Experience in system-level design and prototyping of tactile sensing solutions.
  • Proven analytical and computational skills.
  • Must obtain and maintain work authorization in the country of employment.
  • Preferred: Integration of tactile sensors in robotic platforms.
  • Preferred: Programming/scripting experience for simulation automation (Python, MATLAB, etc.).
