Responsibilities
- Propose novel tactile sensing system architectures for high performance and durability in robotics.
- Develop tactile sensing systems and build prototypes.
- Characterize the tactile sensing system and experiment with practical use cases.
- Collaborate with and support other researchers across various disciplines.
- Communicate research agenda, progress, and results.
Job Requirements
- Currently pursuing or obtaining a PhD in Optical Science, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
- Experience with tactile sensors (optical, resistive, capacitive, or piezoelectric).
- Experience in system-level design and prototyping of tactile sensing solutions.
- Proven analytical and computational skills.
- Must obtain and maintain work authorization in the country of employment.
- Preferred: Integration of tactile sensors in robotic platforms.
- Preferred: Programming/scripting experience for simulation automation (Python, MATLAB, etc.).
