Responsibilities
- Design and develop mechanical and electrical systems for robotics, focusing on structure, mechanisms, and systems integration.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to support part fabrication and assembly of custom sub-assemblies.
- Construct robot prototypes by hands-on work in the lab.
- Perform failure analysis by designing tests, creating test plans, and analyzing data to refine design assumptions.
- Work closely with a cross-functional engineering team to deliver technical solutions.
- Conduct analytical modeling and prototype design for robotics projects.
- Research into Electro-mechanics, Sensor and Communication, and Planning and Control.
Job Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in Mechanical/Electrical Design Engineering, particularly in Machine Design or Electrical component development.
- BS degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Proficiency in designing electromechanical assemblies for robotics or related fields.
- Experience with CAD tools such as SOLIDWORKS or Siemens NX.
- Familiarity with prototyping processes and materials.
- Knowledge of embedded systems and communication protocols.
- Experience in tolerance analysis and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
