Responsibilities
- Mechanical design for low and medium voltage switchgear, switchboards, panel boards, and control panels.
- Evaluate drawings and specifications to develop designs that meet customer requirements.
- Design electrical enclosures meeting applicable safety standards.
- Create bills of materials, specify parts, and work with internal and external manufacturing.
- Develop test plans for product validation and certification.
- Collaborate with 3rd party labs to test and analyze data.
- Act as a point of contact with internal teams and outside engineering firms.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Technology.
- Minimum of 10 years mechanical design experience.
- Proficient in 3D CAD, with SolidWorks preferred.
- Manufacturing experience with bills of material, drawing packages, and testing plans.
- Previous design experience with low and medium-voltage switchgear assemblies/systems.
- Experience with FEA, CFD, and/or Electro-Magnetic simulation software is preferred.
- Knowledge of relevant safety standards (UL 891, UL 508A, IEEE/ANSI, NEC/NFPA 70E).
