Responsibilities
- Mechanical design for low and medium voltage switchgear, switchboards, panel boards, and control panels.
- Evaluate drawings and specifications to develop designs that meet customer requirements.
- Design electrical enclosures meeting applicable safety standards.
- Create bills of materials, specify parts, and collaborate with manufacturing.
- Develop test plans for product validation and certification.
- Work with 3rd party labs to test and analyze data.
- Lead interaction with other functions and locations to determine optimum product/process solutions.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Technology.
- Minimum of 5 years mechanical design experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with 3D CAD, preferably SolidWorks.
- Manufacturing experience regarding assembly of bills of materials and testing plans.
- Previous design experience with low and medium-voltage switchgear assemblies/systems.
- Solidworks CSWA/P/E certifications are desirable.
- Working knowledge of UL, IEEE/ANSI, and NEC/NFPA standards.
