Responsibilities
- Oversee designs for low and medium voltage switchgear, switchboards, panel boards, and control panels.
- Evaluate drawings and specifications to develop designs that meet customer requirements.
- Design electrical enclosures meeting applicable safety standards.
- Develop test plans for product validation and certification.
- Work with 3rd party labs to test and analyze data.
- Act as team lead with other engineers and outside firms.
- Determine deliverable due dates and ensure adherence to schedules.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or mechanical technology with a minimum of 10 years relevant experience.
- Knowledge of UL 891, UL 508A, IEEE/ANSI, and NEC/NFPA 70E standards.
- At least 5 years of experience with 3D CAD, preferably SolidWorks.
- Manufacturing experience with bills of material, drawing packages, and testing plans.
- Experience with FEA, CFD, and/or Electro-Magnetic simulation software is a bonus.
- Previous design experience with low and medium-voltage switchgear systems is desirable.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform various physical tasks as required.
