Responsibilities
- Prepares work plans for the Project Engineering group and ensures compliance with budget and schedule.
- Coordinates with other Engineering Directors and assigns staff to projects.
- Monitors and reviews consultants' work and manages consultant contracts.
- Directs engineering and architectural activities related to transit system facilities and modifications.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
- Leads a staff of professional engineers and communicates safety policies.
- Prepares reports and presentations for management and the Board of Directors.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Architecture, or a related field; Master's Degree preferred.
- Five years of relevant management-level experience in transit or public agency projects.
- State of California registration as a Professional Engineer or Architect is preferred.
- Knowledge of engineering principles and contemporary construction methods.
- Experience managing budgets and schedules for multi-million dollar projects.
- Strong communication skills and ability to lead multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and ensure design compliance.
