Responsibilities
- Set the engineering roadmap for ASP Engineering, including objectives, risks, and platform priorities.
- Define and drive a unified platform architecture across hardware, automation, and systems engineering.
- Establish system-level ownership of architecture, interfaces, and requirements.
- Implement processes for lifecycle, design controls, safety and compliance for autonomous laboratories.
- Develop a repeatable deployment model for global AI Science Factory sites.
- Create a culture of mentorship to support engineers' career development.
- Partner with Robotics and Software teams to build and scale autonomous labs.
Job Requirements
- 15+ years of experience in building lab automation systems.
- 10+ years of experience leading managers and multi-disciplinary teams.
- Proven track record in scaling automated labs or manufacturing-like lab operations.
- Demonstrated experience in integrating AI/ML into engineering environments.
- Technical expertise across lab automation, controls, and science instrumentation.
- Strong leadership skills in recruiting and developing exceptional teams.
- Experience in defining interface standards across hardware and software systems.
