Responsibilities
- Develop and execute mechanical designs for vehicle interior fittings and systems.
- Release design data and documentation for subsystems at various project phases.
- Act as the primary contact for vehicle interior component suppliers during design and production.
- Plan and conduct testing to validate designs and identify improvement opportunities.
- Support system and vehicle level testing as needed.
- Collaborate with suppliers for design for manufacturing (DFM) considerations.
- Utilize CAD systems for design and engineering tasks.
Job Requirements
- BS in mechanical/aerospace engineering or similar field.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in automotive or aerospace design.
- Experience in taking products from concept to production in a lower volume environment.
- Familiarity with DFM for various manufacturing processes.
- Proficiency in a 3D CAD system (preferably Catia V5 or 3DX Catia).
- Strong collaborative mindset and communication skills.
- Experience with sustainable design practices is preferred.
