Responsibilities

  • Design and create drawings for flight components in the Environmental Control System.
  • Build physics-based models and perform data-driven analysis to inform design decisions.
  • Design test equipment and experiments to validate component designs.
  • Design equipment and tools to support manufacturing, integration, and quality control of flight components.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to progress projects through the design, build, test, and iterate loop.
  • Proactively identify problems and contribute to prototyping, iterative design, validation testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Utilize 3D CAD and 2D drawing software for design purposes.

Job Requirements

  • Pursuing an undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering with previous co-op or internship experience.
  • Heading into junior or senior year of undergraduate studies or above.
  • Available for the Summer 2026 internship.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Proficient understanding of mechanical design principles, including fluid dynamics and heat transfer.
  • Practical manufacturing or machine shop experience.
  • Desired experience with cooling systems, ducting, and complex mechanical assemblies.
