Responsibilities
- Participate in all design stages of a harsh environment electrical connector development project.
- Interpret customer design input requirements and develop project scope and schedule.
- Engage in early-stage concept development, including creating preliminary 3D CAD models.
- Present design concepts to the engineering department during Preliminary Design Review.
- Perform design changes based on team feedback on the final design concept.
- Finalize 3D CAD model and generate 2D CAD drawings of the selected design.
- Create Design Validation Test Plan and assist in testing setup and interpretation of results.
Job Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering program.
- Knowledge of basic mechanical and electrical design principles.
- Familiarity with materials such as metals, plastics, and rubbers is helpful.
- Experience in CAD, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required.
- Must continue enrollment in a degree program after the internship.
- Applicants must be U.S. persons as defined by ITAR regulations.
- Knowledge of CNC machining and injection molding is preferred.
