Responsibilities
- Interpret customer design input requirements and develop project scope and schedule.
- Participate in early-stage concept development and create preliminary 3D CAD models.
- Present design concepts during Preliminary Design Review.
- Make design changes based on team feedback on the selected final design.
- Finalize 3D CAD models and generate 2D CAD drawings.
- Collaborate with procurement to select vendors and procure prototypes.
- Create Design Validation Test Plans and assist in testing procedures.
Job Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a Mechanical or Electrical Engineering program (BS/MS/PhD).
- Knowledge of basic mechanical and electrical design principles.
- Familiarity with materials such as metals, plastics, and rubber (helpful but not required).
- Experience in CAD, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Must maintain enrollment in degree program post-internship.
- U.S. person status required under ITAR regulations.
- Knowledge of designing for CNC machining and injection molding preferred.
