Responsibilities
- Interpret customer design input requirements and develop project scope and schedule.
- Participate in early-stage concept development and create preliminary 3D CAD models.
- Present design concepts to the engineering department during Preliminary Design Review.
- Perform design changes based on feedback on the selected final design concept.
- Finalize 3D CAD models and generate 2D CAD drawings of the selected design.
- Work with procurement to select vendors and procure prototypes of the design.
- Create Design Validation Test Plans for the selected design.
Job Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering program.
- Knowledge of basic mechanical and electrical design principles.
- Familiarity with materials such as metals, plastics, and rubber is helpful.
- Experience in CAD, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Must continue enrollment in degree program upon completion of the internship.
- U.S. citizenship or permanent residency required due to ITAR regulations.
- Knowledge of CNC machining and injection molding preferred.
