Build Reliability Engineer (Kick Stage)

The Build Reliability Engineer (Kick Stage) role at Impulse involves ensuring the reliability of hardware from design through production, focusing on the Helios Kick Stage and related systems. The engineer will collaborate with various teams to prevent defects and improve hardware performance.

• Support Helios Kick Stage and related sub-teams.
• Partner with design and manufacturing teams for reliable hardware production.
• Support testing and characterization of hardware performance.
• Identify and eliminate build defects through root cause analysis.
• Evaluate vehicle requirements to ensure alignment with system-level requirements.
• Develop quality control processes for hardware reliability.
• Support hardware integration and testing campaigns.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Manufacturing Engineering.
• 3+ years of experience in hardware manufacturing or high-reliability systems.
• Experience with production builds and complex mechanical systems.
• Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
• Familiarity with quality systems like AS9100 or ISO 9001.
• Experience with reliability engineering concepts.
• Background working closely with technicians and production teams.
