Senior Systems Research Engineer, Mechanical

The Senior Systems Research Engineer will be responsible for measuring and interpreting electromagnetic phenomena around the electrical grid, defining engineering performance requirements, and developing experiments to evaluate technology.

• Own and be the subject matter expert for product measurement chains.
• Lead the development of product requirements for physical measurements.
• Develop physical experiments and hardware-in-the-loop testbeds.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams.

• MS in mechanical engineering + 3 years of industry experience or PhD in mechanical engineering + 2 years of industry experience.
• 3+ years of experience developing performance requirements and testing hardware.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience designing and executing physical experiments.
• 3+ years of scientific computing experience in MATLAB or Python.
• Strong fundamentals in dynamics, kinematics, mechanics of materials, vibrations, and/or robotics.
• Bonus skills in hardware development and familiarity with IoT systems.
• Project leadership experience with complex problems.
