Responsibilities
- Apply design, engineering, and technical expertise to influence cross-functionally and deliver reliable mass production components, and solve time-sensitive problems.
- Anticipate and address product design issues or risks, analyze data, and validate product design to suggest or implement design improvements.
- Manage the product design, provide guidance to team members, and communicate progress, and request feedback to prevent/remove roadblocks.
- Collaborate with external vendors and internal cross-functional teams such as Electrical Engineering, Antenna, Industrial Design, Reliability, Operations, Camera, and Product.
- Work on balancing comfort, performance, and appearance in innovative designs.
- Utilize CAD tools for designing mechanical components and assemblies.
- Contribute to the development of the next generation of Pixel Watch products.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience designing mechanical components such as plastic or metal parts, mechanical assemblies, printed circuit boards, or flexes.
- Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) tools such as 3D MCAD, NX, Creo, or Solidworks.
- Preferred: Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or related field.
- Experience shipping consumer products and knowledge of manufacturing methods used in consumer products.
- Strong organizational skills for managing varied responsibilities across product design.
- Creative problem-solving and clear communication skills.
