Responsibilities
- Provide support during optical system architecture development, component and system testing, validation, and integration.
- Design and build experimental test setups, including automation of data acquisition.
- Conduct hands-on experiments on 3D printers and in the optics lab to collect and analyze data.
- Document and present results to the engineering team and recommend next steps in system design.
- Work with lasers, LEDs, illumination sources, optical sensors, cameras, and electromechanical systems.
- Research and report results autonomously.
- Utilize CAD software and potentially optical design software.
Job Requirements
- Fundamental understanding of optics.
- Hands-on experience with optical systems and related components.
- Programming experience, ideally in Python.
- Effective communication skills, including technical writing.
- Ability to tackle open-ended engineering problems.
- Familiarity with CAD software.
- Experience in building and testing optical, mechanical, or electrical setups.
