Responsibilities
- Design, build, and validate prototypes of new electrochemical cell architectures and experimental setups.
- Conduct an iterative design process to ensure mechanical and electrochemical requirements are met.
- Perform engineering analysis including hand calculations, FEA, and CFD.
- Prototype designs in-house or by outsourcing to manufacturers.
- Document the design process through written documentation, CAD files, and testing data.
- Propose creative solutions to problems and work collaboratively across teams.
Job Requirements
- BS in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated experience in CAD (e.g., SolidWorks).
- Comfort with machine shop fabrication tools and hands-on building.
- Knowledge of engineering first principles.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Experience or courses in chemistry/electrochemistry are a plus.
