The role involves participating in Ford's student worker program as a Physical Prototypes Engineer, contributing to the development of electric vehicles by collaborating with various engineering and design teams.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Aerodynamics, Ergonomics, Engineering, and Design teams.
  • Develop approaches to evaluate aerodynamic devices and customer experiences.
  • Conduct hands-on CAD design, fabrication, and assembly of prototypes.
  • Project manage and source components from vendors for prototypes.
  • Create geometrically and functionally representative physical test properties.
  • Engage in innovative prototype solutions and problem-solving.
  • Work in a team-oriented environment under tight deadlines.

Job Requirements

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Engineering or related field.
  • Ability to work in Long Beach, CA for 6 months.
  • Experience with CAD programs (Catia, NX, Creo, Solidworks).
  • Hands-on experience in prototyping, fabrication, and assembly.
  • Familiarity with rapid prototyping and machining processes.
  • Strong communication and adaptability skills.
  • Team-first mindset with creative problem-solving abilities.
