The role involves developing traction inverters for electric vehicle applications, focusing on design, validation, and troubleshooting of power electronics systems within Ford's Electric Vehicles, Digital and Design (EVDD) team.

Responsibilities

  • Develop traction inverters for electric vehicle applications.
  • Design, bring-up, characterize, and troubleshoot traction inverters.
  • Design and validate circuit schematics and PCB layout.
  • Perform complex circuit design analysis, thermal analysis, and control analysis.
  • Conduct failure analysis.
  • Support design validation and end-of-line tests specifications.
  • Collaborate with mechanical design, software, system, and project management functions.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in power electronics product development.
  • Hands-on experience with schematic capture and circuit simulation tools.
  • Experience with PCB layout for signal integrity and manufacturability.
  • Hands-on experience with high voltage power electronics testing and validation.
  • Familiarity with IGBT, MOSFET devices, and power modules.
  • Experience with EMI troubleshooting and safety-critical automotive hardware development is a plus.
