Responsibilities
- Construct a testable hypothesis and experiment plan/system design using engineering and optics principles.
- Collaborate with a senior team to create a work plan, build prototypes, and conduct test measurements.
- Execute experiments, document, and interpret results using sound engineering principles.
- Review approaches, plans, results, and interpretations with the senior team.
- Conduct literature reviews as needed.
- Design and build experiment hardware and software, including circuit design and basic machining.
- Work independently while seeking direction and assistance when necessary.
Job Requirements
- Actively pursuing a degree in engineering, physics, or a related field, graduating December 2026 or later.
- Strong background in electromagnetism, optical physics, mathematics, and engineering.
- Experience with basic circuit design and electrical measurement methods.
- Experience in running experiments and collecting data using scientific methods.
- Preferred experience with CAD software and hands-on experience with 3D printers and machining equipment.
- Good documentation and communication skills.
- Ability to work in Everett, WA for the summer.
