Responsibilities

  • Develop new innovative design concepts for solving real problems related to launch vehicle and spacecraft programs.
  • Use engineering principles to provide novel solutions for technically challenging problems in Materials & Process Engineering.
  • Design fluid systems for sampling exhaust gases from engines.
  • Create fluid systems models for analyzing pressure drops in propellant and press systems.
  • Design and fabricate engine tooling for ongoing projects.
  • Responsible for the design of development heatsink chambers for thrusters.
  • Ownership of critical engine main valve design targeting improved sealing capabilities.

Job Requirements

  • Strong engineering fundamentals in thermal, structural, and fluids analysis.
  • Current undergraduate or graduate student in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated drive to deliver on tight schedules with creative solutions.
  • Hands-on fabrication experience using common power tools.
  • Ability to work occasional night shifts.
  • Capability to collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team environment.
  • Compliance with U.S. Government space technology export regulations.
