Responsibilities
- Develop new innovative design concepts for solving real problems related to launch vehicle and spacecraft programs.
- Use engineering principles to provide novel solutions for technically challenging problems in Materials & Process Engineering.
- Design fluid systems for sampling exhaust gases from engines.
- Create fluid systems models for analyzing pressure drops in propellant and press systems.
- Design and fabricate engine tooling for ongoing projects.
- Responsible for the design of development heatsink chambers for thrusters.
- Ownership of critical engine main valve design targeting improved sealing capabilities.
Job Requirements
- Strong engineering fundamentals in thermal, structural, and fluids analysis.
- Current undergraduate or graduate student in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related field.
- Demonstrated drive to deliver on tight schedules with creative solutions.
- Hands-on fabrication experience using common power tools.
- Ability to work occasional night shifts.
- Capability to collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team environment.
- Compliance with U.S. Government space technology export regulations.
