Responsibilities
- Oversee Chef's hardware engineering organization.
- Execute as a player coach in hardware development.
- Expand the range of ingredients that the robot can manipulate.
- Design and build the next-generation robotic system.
- Improve reliability and mean time between failures (MTBF) for current systems.
- Reduce bill of materials (BOM) costs.
- Set the technical direction for the hardware team.
Job Requirements
- Master's or Ph.D. in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or physics.
- Experience shipping at least 3 products to market.
- Experience scaling a product to tens of thousands of users/customers.
- 10+ years of production engineering experience as an individual contributor, tech lead, or manager.
- Experience managing teams in manufacturing, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and firmware.
- Experience with perception/computer vision, machine learning, and robotics motion planning.
- Experience scaling engineering teams significantly.
