The role of the Propulsion Engineer at Boeing focuses on advancing propulsion technologies for space exploration, particularly within the Space Launch Systems program. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, test, and certify propulsion components and subsystems.
Responsibilities
- Define requirements for propulsion system components.
- Coordinate functional and physical interfaces within propulsion systems.
- Develop and maintain envelope drawings and component specifications.
- Design propulsion components to meet performance criteria.
- Conduct testing and analysis to estimate component performance.
- Manage propulsion risks and issues, developing mitigation plans.
- Support technical evaluations of supplier proposals and coordinate budgets.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or related field.
- 1+ years of experience in rocket propulsion.
- Experience with propulsion system components and design/integration.
- Preferred 3+ years of experience with cryogenic and pneumatic delivery systems.
- Experience in space, launch vehicle, or aircraft programs.
- Familiarity with NASA Space programs or related Space/Defense programs.
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
