The role of the Propulsion Engineer at Boeing focuses on advancing propulsion technologies for space exploration, particularly within the Space Launch Systems program. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, test, and certify propulsion components and subsystems.

Responsibilities

  • Define requirements for propulsion system components.
  • Coordinate functional and physical interfaces within propulsion systems.
  • Develop and maintain envelope drawings and component specifications.
  • Design propulsion components to meet performance criteria.
  • Conduct testing and analysis to estimate component performance.
  • Manage propulsion risks and issues, developing mitigation plans.
  • Support technical evaluations of supplier proposals and coordinate budgets.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or related field.
  • 1+ years of experience in rocket propulsion.
  • Experience with propulsion system components and design/integration.
  • Preferred 3+ years of experience with cryogenic and pneumatic delivery systems.
  • Experience in space, launch vehicle, or aircraft programs.
  • Familiarity with NASA Space programs or related Space/Defense programs.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
