Senior Quality Control Mechanical Engineer

The Senior Quality Control Mechanical Engineer at Blue Origin is responsible for overseeing quality assurance for complex industrial projects, providing technical leadership during design and construction phases to ensure compliance with quality standards.

• Provide oversight and technical guidance during the design phase of complex industrial projects
• Develop and implement quality control plans and inspection procedures for mechanical systems
• Conduct rigorous inspections of mechanical, plumbing, and process systems throughout construction
• Review contractor submittals, RFIs, and change orders for quality implications
• Identify non-conformances and develop corrective action plans
• Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and engineers to resolve technical issues
• Document quality control activities and maintain comprehensive records

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master's preferred)
• Current Professional Engineering (PE) license
• 10+ years of experience in quality control for complex industrial projects
• Demonstrated expertise in mechanical, plumbing, and process system design and construction
• Strong understanding of industry codes and standards (ASME, ASTM, AWS, etc.)
• Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
• Proficiency with quality control software and tools
