Responsibilities
- Lead the development of new avionics designs and oversee existing designs for the New Glenn launch vehicle.
- Manage a team of Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) focused on avionics systems.
- Collaborate with the Avionics Architect to optimize avionics cost, weight, and performance.
- Oversee Electrical Power Systems, Guidance, Navigation and Control Systems, and Flight Computing Systems.
- Interface with Supply Chain for avionics components.
- Ensure adherence to safety and mission-critical system requirements.
- Respond to evolving requirements and external constraints while fostering innovation.
Job Requirements
- B.S. degree in mechanical, electrical, or aerospace engineering or equivalent.
- 20+ years of experience in avionics systems design and development.
- Proven leadership experience in managing engineering teams.
- Familiarity with fault-tolerance strategies for safety-critical systems.
- Knowledge of avionics, propulsion, fluids, and control systems.
- Experience across the product lifecycle from design to field support.
- Ability to work with U.S. Government research agencies (e.g., NASA, USSF).
