Responsibilities
- Design mechanisms for space flight, including docking and deployment systems.
- Participate in the entire design cycle, including structural analysis and development testing.
- Create documentation for assembly and testing of hardware.
- Conduct subsystem level testing and manage suppliers.
- Design and produce proof of concept hardware for research and development.
- Collaborate within a small team to adapt to shifting priorities.
- Ensure designs meet safety and reliability standards while adhering to cost and schedule requirements.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering.
- 3+ years of experience in aerospace or equivalent mechanical system design.
- Strong skills in mechanical design, integration, and analysis using 3D modeling tools.
- Experience with GD&T analysis and tolerance stacks.
- Knowledge of manufacturing, assembly, and qualification testing processes.
- Proficient in technical writing and clear communication.
- Experience in specifying margins and test sequences for aerospace systems.
