Responsibilities
- Lead design efforts for assigned subsystems and resolve technical challenges.
- Own and deliver mechanical design solutions for large mechanical systems.
- Independently perform and review FEA and hand-calculations for complex mechanical systems.
- Manage external design and fabrication partners throughout the project lifecycle.
- Oversee equipment fabrication, assembly, installation, and testing & activation.
- Work collaboratively within a team of engineers on mechanical ground systems.
- Ensure compliance with design standards and project requirements.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline.
- 7+ years of experience in design/analysis/construction of large mechanical systems.
- Experience leading mechanical designs from concept through commissioning.
- Proficiency in CAD tools for mechanical design.
- Familiarity with FEA tools for mechanical analysis.
- Knowledge of ASME Y14.5 GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis.
- Experience in heavy-duty mechanism design and analyzing mechanical systems under dynamic loading conditions.
