Responsibilities

  • Design production, development, test, integration, and advanced manufacturing tooling and equipment.
  • Integrate mechanical design and analysis concepts in a fast-paced environment.
  • Interpret and apply design and drafting standards (ASME Y14.5) for creating drawings.
  • Tackle technical design challenges related to assembly fixtures and custom machines.
  • Collaborate closely with component designers and manufacturing engineers for optimal project metrics.
  • Manage projects including vendor selection, fabrication, and installation of custom tooling.
  • Set and maintain schedules and budgets to ensure project completion.

Job Requirements

  • B.S. degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in design, build, and commissioning of tooling and fixtures.
  • Experience with FEM and structural analysis, including hand calculations.
  • Proficient with CAD software for modeling and drafting.
  • Strong expertise in design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA).
  • Understanding of manufacturing materials, GD&T, and tolerance analysis.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes like CNC machining and welding.
