Responsibilities
- Design production, development, test, integration, and advanced manufacturing tooling and equipment.
- Integrate mechanical design concepts and principles across multiple projects.
- Interpret and apply design and drafting standards (ASME Y14.5).
- Handle technical design challenges related to assembly fixtures and custom machines.
- Collaborate with engineers to achieve optimal metrics (safety, cost, quality, etc.).
- Manage projects including vendor selection and equipment installation.
- Set and maintain schedules and budgets for project completion.
Job Requirements
- B.S. degree in Engineering or equivalent work experience.
- 10+ years of experience in design and commissioning of tooling and fixtures.
- Experience with FEM and structural analysis, including hand calculations.
- Proficiency in CAD software for modeling and drafting.
- Strong knowledge of design for manufacturability (DFM) and assembly (DFA).
- Understanding of common manufacturing materials and processes.
- Familiarity with industry standards and analysis software.
