The Launch Engineer - Fluids (Level 1) role at Blue Origin involves supporting the development and operations of the New Glenn launch vehicle, focusing on testing, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of fluid systems associated with launch facilities and space vehicles.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with teams to build, operate, and maintain a launch site and vehicle.
- Author and run procedures for commissioning and maintenance of fluid systems.
- Perform hazards analysis and guide work using hierarchy of controls for safety.
- Operate and maintain launch pad piping systems.
- Assist with oversight of commissioning and operation of piping/pressure systems.
- Occasional travel and second shift work may be necessary.
- Ensure safety and quality in human spaceflight operations.
Job Requirements
- BS degree in aerospace, mechanical engineering, or similar discipline.
- Relevant experience with fluid system operation, including high pressure systems.
- Experience writing and executing test plans for safety-critical components.
- Strong collaboration skills with multidisciplinary teams.
- U.S. citizenship or permanent residency required.
- Preferred: 1-5 years of experience with fluid systems and mechanical systems.
- Knowledge of piping systems and fluid components.
