The Systems Engineering Intern at Bio-Rad will support the R&D Engineering Team in developing and evaluating laboratory instruments for droplet generation and analysis. The role is suited for students who enjoy hands-on experimentation, data analysis, and understanding complex systems.

Responsibilities

  • Assist engineers in system characterization testing across multiple instruments.
  • Verify instrument configurations for testing.
  • Collect and analyze data to evaluate system performance.
  • Investigate unexpected behaviors or failures in instruments.
  • Document results and present findings to the engineering team.
  • Engage in laboratory experimentation and data analysis.
  • Collaborate with engineers to troubleshoot issues.

Job Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related field.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to document technical work.
  • Interest in laboratory experimentation and testing.
  • Basic familiarity with engineering principles such as fluidics, optics, or instrumentation.
  • Experience with data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, MATLAB, Python) is a plus.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • Willingness to commit to a full-time internship for 9 weeks.
