Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain electrical and instrumentation systems for fusion experiments.
  • Collaborate with physicists and engineers to develop experimental electrical systems.
  • Specify, procure, assemble, and test electrical hardware.
  • Troubleshoot hardware systems using various test equipment.
  • Implement grounding, shielding, and filtering strategies for reliable measurements.
  • Support experiment operation by maintaining measurement systems and diagnostics.
  • Contribute to the improvement of electrical practices and documentation.

Job Requirements

  • B.S. degree or higher in electrical engineering, physics, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in electrical or instrumentation engineering roles.
  • Strong understanding of electrical fundamentals and troubleshooting hardware systems.
  • Experience with analog and mixed-signal systems.
  • Familiarity with sensors and transducers in experimental environments.
  • Ability to identify and mitigate measurement noise and grounding issues.
  • Comfort working directly with physical hardware in a lab environment.
