Responsibilities
- Cultivate a high-performing leadership team and ensure strategic objectives are met.
- Own the node hardware architecture, including mechanism selection and structural design.
- Drive hardware requirements and error budgets for precision and reliability.
- Lead design and industrialization of motion subsystems and in-situ metrology.
- Establish rigorous design processes, including design reviews and verification plans.
- Build scalable calibration and alignment strategies into the hardware.
- Partner with Manufacturing Engineering to develop the prototype-to-production pipeline.
Job Requirements
- Ph.D. or M.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Physics, or related field.
- At least 7 years of experience developing complex robotics or advanced manufacturing systems.
- Demonstrated ownership of multiple hardware systems shipped to production.
- Deep expertise in precision mechanism design and error budgeting.
- Strong command of GD&T and design for manufacturability/assembly/service.
- Experience with selecting and integrating sensors and actuators.
- Strong reliability and failure analysis skills in production environments.
