Responsibilities
- Conceptualize, design, build, and test drivetrain technologies for electric actuators.
- Optimize drivetrains for mass, volume, inertia, efficiency, torques, and speeds.
- Design gear tooth profiles to enhance backlash, efficiency, strength, and lifetime.
- Select bearings based on performance characteristics, loads, and packaging.
- Develop lubrication strategies considering maintenance and performance.
- Conduct analysis (FEA, gear analysis software) to validate designs.
- Create GD&T-informed drawings and project documentation.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 7+ years of experience in drivetrain development within robotics, automotive, or aerospace.
- Proficiency in gear design software and CAD tools.
- Strong understanding of gear manufacturing technologies and industry standards.
- Mastery of engineering fundamentals and attention to detail.
- Excellent teamwork, organizational, and time management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
