Responsibilities
- Support the mechanical engineering development of Applied Vehicles.
- Contribute to the mechanical design of the external sensor suite, compute assembly, and vehicle interiors.
- Perform structural and thermal analysis of mechanical designs.
- Own the design, analysis, and validation of systems from component to fully integrated vehicle levels.
- Focus on design scalability and manufacturability.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to meet organizational requirements and mechanical design needs.
- Execute tests and produce documentation for testing, maintenance, and safety processes.
Job Requirements
- BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering.
- 2+ years of experience in hardware design and product shipping.
- Experience in FEA/CAE and hardware reliability testing.
- Familiarity with automotive components like Lidar, Radar, and Cameras.
- Proficiency in CAD (Solidworks preferred) for 3D modeling.
- Experience with CNC, machining, metal working, and welding.
- Ability to develop detailed documentation and collaborate with engineers on custom test fixtures.
