Responsibilities
- Own the mechanical design process from start to finish with minimal supervision.
- Create detailed 3D models and manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks.
- Package complex medical electronics, including high-power supplies and amplifiers.
- Model custom magnetic components, such as inductors and transformers.
- Build, test, and refine physical prototypes using 3D printing and hands-on techniques.
- Support quality and regulatory compliance by maintaining proper design history files (DHF).
- Collaborate daily and communicate clearly within a small product design team.
Job Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Drafting/Design; BSME preferred.
- 3+ years of professional experience in a mechanical design role.
- Extensive proficiency with SolidWorks CAD software.
- Strong background in electronics packaging, specifically power electronics.
- Proven experience modeling magnetics (transformers, inductors, cores).
- Familiarity with medical device design controls or regulatory standards (e.g., ISO 13485, FDA guidelines).
- Experience with 3D printing for rapid medical prototyping is highly desired.
